From September 12th to October 5th, Seville will become the flamenco world center as our city holds the 18th edition of La Bienal de Flamenco. This year the event will suppose a homage to the recently passed away Paco De Lucía. Other artists such as Farruquito, Marina Heredia, Rocío Márquez or Jose de la Tomasa will appear on stages on later days (check program here)
70 shows and performances as a sample of tradition and vanguard in this centenary art. The opening show will take place at the Maestranza Theater on September 12th. That night, the work “Enrique Morente. Granada. Sevilla. Nueva York” will pay tribute to the genius Enrique Morente.
Along with the shows, there are several activities, such as street performances or meetings, taking place all over the city, to spread the flamenco culture. Among these activities, a flashmob will be organised at Plaza Nueva on October 5th based on this choreography by Pastora Galvan. Any amateur can join her.
